Bethells Beach
Just back from today's shoot and it has been draining...when on location did not feel a thing and time just flew by but now it is just so tiring..magical day - with some odd moments...we wanted it to be overcast or to rain because the first couple of shots we got were in a drizzle but it just wouldn't rain...don't know how the continuity will be within those scenes but i think i will be able to cut around it... Check out some of the pics from what we shot and for more pics just check out the photo gallery or the website

A horse on location when it is raining

Action Shot from the movie
The stuff with rachel got sorted out on friday..and the studio show went without any hiccups, besides rob helping synch up the studio without a SPG {Synchrinized Pulse Generator} which took a long time..Got money from accounts to go shopping and buy stuff for the couch {we fell short by a meter} and also some cushions and stuff...the couch is complete and it is a complete luxury..will show you the photos on monday. the next mission for the office is to paint it..:D
Got studio coming up tomorrow and it will be fun to shoot it. Most probably will be confirming the order for the Precision M60 on Monday as the rest of the amount from india will be coming through and it is a great bargain where in I would be saving about NZ$1000 on the current prices. And am talking to heletranz to help us out with some aerial footage for the movie. It will cost us some money but I think it will be well worth it.
On the way back from the location found some strange birds on a farm..if you recognize what they are -drop in an email to me.

Strange Bird -1

Strange Bird -2
Anyway mind is numbing out and gotta get things ready for tomorrows shoot. So will take leave for now
Ciao

The first bird looks like an Ostrich and second two look like Emu's.
Hey amit, when I was editing 'mail order love' there was a scene where there was a difference in weather conditions. We had to go to a shot where it was raining lightly to where it was raining heavily. Dan got a close up of the rain falling on the water and we used that shot in post to transition it. Also raising the sound level of rain during the shot gave the perception that the rain was increasing during the close up when in fact it was not.
Is yours going from no rain to rain chronologically? If not you may find yourself doing some re-shoots.
otherwise you might be able to pull it off. How about a shot of the sky with storm clouds coming in(can be shot anytime a storm comes in), and then a close up of rain falling on similiar sand(maybe at the beach)?
maybe even work in a line with your actor in close up, looking up towards the sky, saying "looks like rain" or something. Throw in some fabricated sounds of thunder from the coming storm in the preceding shoots to get the audience adapted to the idea that it is going to rain and a storm is on the way or whatever. Sound can do wonders for perception.
anyway, just some ideas. I'm sure you've already thought along these lines.
