Chaos

So many things happening at the same time and i am still writing this blog :-) yesterday was another eventful day - Darryn, the camera tutor and me - have a shared office at south seas and since we moved into recently- we are making it our own.

Went out shopping and brought some camoflauge cloth to put on the couch which Darryn brought in from home. Started stitching it together - will take another day because the day is usually frought with so many interruptions.

Also intend to paint the room in different colours -got ourselves a TV and a VCR {outdated technology??? think again - NZ seems to be into it} for the room..it will be one hell of a room once it is done.

the deck in the control room in the studio kept playing up and despite our best attempts it remained tempramental...Jamie is coming in today to sort out both the DA synch problems in the grass valley as well as the overall studio. Rob, my boss, got himself a 'Reservoir dogs' -the ear cutting scene toy...his toy collection seems to be growing and growing....check out rob's toy collection here and you will understand what i am talking about

the immigration points have come down but i am caught in between not having money to the NZQA still processing my request to recognize my MBA. still waiting for the money transfer from india so that i can buy myself a Precision M60 to edit the feature on...

have to get my schedule sorted and head space cleared for the shoot on the weekend. the crew is now minimal - just me, lance and dan...along with the actors and the make up lady.. it is funny how some people just lose interest in a project or for whatever reason leave te project midway.. ultimately i think there are 3 kinds of people in media - slackers, leavers and finishers. slackers tend to slack off and never get around to do doing anything useful while leavers leave midway through a project because of various reasons - personal or professional. And then there are the finishers - who see the project to the end. making this digital feature has been a kind of revelation. I still think that I am lucky because inspite of the massive crew movements - in and out of the project - i have always found someone willing to help out with the film. Brett has sorted out the blogs and the website - which is great, especially with time constraints he has with his tests and assignments.

I will update the site soon - definitely a new movie page/site...probably flash based. Will be meeting up Anurag - an animator and into new media, on friday i..e tomorrow..met him on the net through the website and he is helping us out with the new movie site..

There is an informal seminar by the organizers of the Berlin Film Festival, so will be going to attend that -so that it gives me a better idea of how i will market the film and the things that i should look out for.

There are 3 other things happening at school -ranging from NZQA unit standards points reassesment to getting the process started for my work permit for next year to maintenance of post production facilities for Term-4... i think i have already babbled enough and I will take leave for now.

{p.S - i forgot to mention that Paul from Pulpmovies has given our website some coverage on his site along with putting links to the trailer pages....the marvels of internet..thanks to him for doing that..hopefully it will get us a little more coverage}
