Death of an Idiot

Just back from today's shoot - which was fantastic. had heaps of fun and ran around a lot in native NZ bush - a special thanks to the auckland city council who have helped out with permits and stuff and obviously Michelle for persuading them...everyone was great especially steve -who waited for half the day before we got to his shots... Lance got some pretty cool footage and did quite a bit of action coverage. Shannon was great for makeup and blood effects. And Rachel, Richard, Tim and Rebecca were their energetic selves running on and on through the bushes till we asked them to stop and for going through the brunt of 'retakes' sessions till we got what we needed. Again - improvised the whole scene to work according to the topography - funny how important it can be on the actual day of filming. Location recees help and give a brief idea of what you would get but it is the actual day which defines the shoot and you have to keep improvising and adjusting till you get what you want.

the weather held up fine -and only went overcast just before the last scene we needed to shoot...we combined shots, cheated locations and got some coverage...and after doing the wider shot - both Lance and I felt a little bit of relief that we will be able to cut the scene together. Might need a little colour correction though because of the overcast conditions. :-) Feel lucky because it has been raining ever since we finished off our shoot.

unpredictability (n): the quality of being guided by sudden unpredictable impulses

how predictable is life? And how predictable is a person? If unpredictability is stupid and plain irritating then predictability can be fatal. What path I choose – is but obvious.

This post also marks the death of an idiot. Amen.
