Lost in La Mancha
This movie is for everyone who is in media or wants to get into media. The movie was fantastic and showed what could happen even to the best of directors, in this case Terry Gilliam, who gave us movies like Brazil, 12 Monkeys. Terry is a genius and is a dreamer and it was heart breaking seeing his dream project come undone - a project which he has been trying to make ever since 1991 but only managed to get it into production in 2002 only to have it shut down after 6 days of production. If you are a film maker you will probably understand the film so much more better. What touched me the most was Terry's attitude in saying -i don't care what goes wrong, i want to continue filming. The way he tries to do more shots when one side of the location they are shooting at loses light is just inspiring. And the moment when Terry knows that they will not be able to contiune filming is just heart breaking - more so as he has just met the 60 principal investors{who put in US$ 16 million of the US$ 31million budget} who came onto the set to see the movie in progress. All in all this movie is a reality check and a grounding for everyone in media and shows how important pre production is. If you haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend you getting it out and watching it.
The other movie I watched was 'Swimming Pool'. It waa not bad at all..it had a real slow rhythm and if you are not stickler for art movies, you will probably fall asleep. The ending is a real twister and you might get it, you might not but it is good. It is hard to write about a movie which you don't want to give anything away, so I won't write much about it anyway.

I think it's awesome hoe terry gilliam let the doco cam get that close and personal to the experience even when it was all falling apart. And that was one hell of a storm, wasn't it?
Swimming Pool was cool. Slow and boring at the start, but started getting interesting when that girl arrived. And yes, fantastic twist! Ala Secret Window only better!
