Of Wednesday and Pizza Slabs

2 busy days and nearly skipped writing in this update today. The whole day went into the staff workshop with Ray Millar about Student-staff relationships in context with the school's environment. It was fantastic and it was just a deeper insight into the training side of things and the more I think about it, the more I consider myself lucky that I am working here at South Seas and that my colleauges and seniors at work are simply fantastic. I think it is the underlying philosophy of the school which attracts so many students and also makes it one of the most unique places to study at. Thinking back at my last year here as a student and now a year as a member of faculty here -the one thing which has struck a deep chord within me is the commitment and passion of the board of directors - Gerben, Nerida, David and Rob to make sure that south seas is not just another training institute but a place where you form life long bonds and relationships. I think the teaching-learning models we have here at school might be one of the most unique in the world.

Annette has taken over editing the corporate promo project for Armageddon and I think it will be a good thing to have on her CV. I had a rushed meeting with Graham Dingle from Project K as i had to be at the staff workshop with Ray. 3 projects have been completed and another 4 projects are gonna be laid off onto tape today...so it is exciting seeing everyone putting in their best efforts and sticking to the schedules, especially the editors who are supporting each other through the process.

Yesterday was really exciting as the Precision M60 came through and I was like a gleeful kid getting his first toy..Matt helped load up software are also set it up so that I can use it at work incase i bring it in to school. So it is fantastic that i can now work anywhere I want - like right now I am sitting in the school cafteria and updating the blog. Tonight is again gonna be a long day as I will be staying in late to make sure that the onlines are approved and laid off onto the master tape. Got a couple of pizza slabs and shared it with the editors working here on the night shift. At this stage of the year, editing does become like a post production house and I am just like a team leader heading an editing team rather than a tutor.

anyway...let me get back to the editing suites and see how everything is going. and i will try and post some pics of this laptop soon.

ciao
amit
