Slacker

An interesting piece of info which I came across was that the term 'slacker' was brought into regular use and included in the dictionaries after the movie 'SLACKER' came out. It might be true or it might not be but put it out as food for thought.

The reason I started off with this was that yesterday Grace, the hard working art director on the film, gave me a ring to confrm about gun props for this weekend's shoot and during the course of the conversation she mentioned one of the earlier posts where I was talking about three kinds of people in media...i don't know how she read it or interpreted it or who told it to her but she thinks that i meant that everyone else on the team is a leaver.. Usually I hate clarifications but in this case it becomes absoultely critical for me to clarify the matter - for those members of the team who are reading this and who are still juggling different assignments to help out with this project - you ARE still helping finish the project. So do you think that you have left the project????? Maybe i should change my statements to 'there are 4 kinds of people in media - slackers, leavers, jugglers and finishers...heeheeheee...and my definition of 'jugglers' would be the people who juggle various jobs at the same time and make sure that everyone of them is getting finished.

Anyway -heard back from Jono and he is still on as DOP for the project. Will have a team meeting today evening for the same. And the short film script from Alan Brash has come through and we will be doing a read through sometime today. Also have to plan out the shooting scheme for this saturday's shoot and also meet up Delaney, to discuss marketing strategy for the film.

I got a text from mom yesterday, so I rang her up - it was nice catching up with her after a long time. Ashwani had told mom about the accidents I had last month and mom got worried. :-) Had to wriggle my way out of that by telling her the truth. And the other thing I escaped narrowly was the subject of my pesonal life. Dad has gone on an official tour to Kashmir, one of the most troubled states in India. Apparently they have gone in to do the hydrogeolgy project escorted by armed forces. For a moment I was worried but I know it will be fine. Kashmir is such a beautiful place to be in, atleast my last memories of it was that it was nothing like what you would see on earth. It is sad to see people just tearing it apart because they want boundaries modified.

I will post an update later but for now I will leave with note to my team members saying - i am lucky that you guys have helped out with film and i am thankful to you for that.

Cheers
Amit
