Moonlight, BBQ and Drinks
Just back from a moonlight walk on the Takapuna beach with Benji and Andrew Schischka. It was a nice and pleasent evening with a gentle breeze. Lovely time to catch up on old times. We had a BBQ at our flat earlier and it was great - funny in ways because it was like an international get together - couple of kiwis, an indian, an american, a south african and a japanese... Asako dropped in to say hi and it was nice of her.

Today was also great because Benji finished digitizing all the tapes and the project is now ready for edit. Can't wait for Benji to get started on it from Monday.

Yesterday evening was fun with the editors meeting at the pub. It was kind of nervous waiting for them to turn up because I never knew how many would come but it was unfounded and we had heaps of fun. We first went to the Belgian Beer cafe in Takapuna and had a couple of drinks there. Gerben joined us there and it is one of those things which makes South Seas special - the relationship with the students just begins at the end of the school year {as rob aptly put it in his address to the editors}. After having a couple of drinks, we then moved down to Tui Sports Bar where we had some more drinks. :-)

The day before, in the evening I had a game of cricket with Matt and Saumya, after the school and it was heaps of fun...if you remember the earlier agreement that whoever wins gets to keep the bat in their office, well the bat is now back in my office {which I had to forefiet to Matt last week because I had to leave the game midway because of workshop with the actors}. It was kind of agonizing for both Matt and Saumya because I was in no mood to get out.

I ordered myself an iLAP for the laptop. I guess it is a means of protecting the investment on the Precision M60. It acts as a good heat dissipating stand and also improves the positioning of the laptop screen. That way it helps keep the laptop cool and thus improvng the performance of the machine. So yeah ordered it straight away and the funny thing is that the shipping cost is almost equal to the cost of the iLap itself. But yeah...am pleased with that decision. It should be here sometime next week.
This post is funny in a way because this goes in the reverse chronological order, something which i did not intend it to be. But anyway - I don't know what to do right now as I had a nap in the late afternoon and am feeling pretty fresh but one of flatmates wants to watch the tv. Tomorrow I definitely need to spend time and finish off the application process for the reapplication to the job at South Seas. Need to get stuff sorted before Gerben leaves for singapore next weekend.
ciao for now
amit
