Possible meetings and interviews

Pheww....what a week it has been again - just flew past. Finally managed to finish typing out the interview for a singaopre based magazine and emailed it to them. I'll let you know when it comes out and will see if I can get a scanned copy of the article to post on the website. I also talked to India Newslink - a major indian newspaper publication based in Auckland and they were keen to do an article on the film as well- which is great as it would mean much needed publicity to get the film out into the public. I will be meeting the editor on Monday and they are planning to print that article in the 1st half of feb. I have been trying to push the same to other places as well and am waiting to hear back from them.

I had contacted Panasonic NZ before we started shooting the movie to see if they would help us out by sponsoring us, especially since we are the first digital feature shot completely on a DVX100a, but had got dismal response from them and it was not only disappointing but also made me angry as to how a company could turn a complete blind eye to a marketing opportunity. I thought well - since we are now finishing off the movie and the response to it has been pleasently positive, I would try them again and see if they still wanted to have anything to do with the film at all. I did get a response back from them and it was positive as well, so I will be meeting the main guy there towards the end of feb as he is away till then. So hopefully, panasonic will help us in some way or another in getting the film out or possibly in promotion.

I have meeting with one of the local distributors in february and it would be interesting to see what comes out of those discussions. With the way the movie is shaping up, I am quietly confident that people will sit up and take notice of the film. Benji has done an excellent job in shaping up the film the way it is and is currently working on audio post production. Will be giving off the external hard drive to Jamie and Matt, so that they can work on the specialFX and colour grading. Next in line is also doing ADR's with the actors for a couple of scenes and re-recording the voice overs.

I am seem to be getting slightly better at playing pool...i am terrible at it but on one of the days i had a lucky streak and from then on i seem to be able to atleast pot the balls properly. Lance, Benji and me went and played cut throat and it was fun. Lance is fantastic at pool, so Benji and me ganged up against him and made his stay on the pool table frustrating...it was so much fun.


Have been seeing some of last years students drop in - on and off. Sam has got a job at Prime TV -which is fantastic, especially at this point in the year where the companies are just getting back into the swing of things. But the week has been so busy that haven't really had the time to stop and talk to any of them. And I am also looking forward to next week -where I will get back into teaching mode, teaching a small group of international students who are currently doing the 4 week course. Plus have more maintenance work to do in post, before the next year starts. Overall, a fantastic time just getting into the flow of things.

I think i will stop now or I will keep rambling on and on and on.
