Phase-1 ends

Yeah...i guess thats the end of phase-1 with the last screening at the Asia film festival. the turnout was the same as last time and again the feedback and reactions have been positive. It definitely feels like an end to the first phase and all I can do now is wait. Where do I go from here? I don't know - submit it to few more international film festivals and see if it get selected anywhere else. I haven't heard back from either Brisbane or Melbourne Film Festival - so I am presuming that it has not been selected. It just feels strange that the audience response has been positive at both the public screenings but the international festivals in australia haven't selected it. The next lot of festivals I will be submitting to don't play till August -so that gives a 2 month gap and also the same time will be used on finalizing the distribution deals. Lots of lessons learnt from this first phase and i guess all that will go into the next movie.

We won our netball game today : 24-22 , which was fantastic as we really played so well as a team. It was our last game for the current season since we did not make it to the semifinals...so thats the end of that era as well..good to end on a winning note. Full credit to the fantastic teamwork. Minor casualties though - Bronwyn got a nasty cut between her fingers and i think i might have broken my little finger on my left hand {will get to know for sure by tomorrow morning}.

Finished reading 'Watchmen' and it is mindblowingly good. I literally had to tear myself away from the book in the morning, so that I could get to the movie screening in time. I would rate it 5 out of 5 at all levels... you got to check it out. Here is a link at Amazon about the book. It is moving, it is dark, it is complex, it is so many things at the same time that you won't believe it - the movie would be a difficult one to pull off if the essence is kept the same. Alan Moore along with dave gibbons has created a masterpiece which can only improve with each reading. It also amazes me how 'The Incredibles' is essentially a lighter/family version inspired from 'Watchmen' - retired super heros, place in current world...rings bells??? and what about all the powers which the family had - some based on flash, some on Mr. Fantastic, some on Hulk....the only thing unique about it was the presentation and the energy.. Mr. Greengrass please pull off the Watchmen movie with all justice - it would be too good off a movie to loose to dictates of the studio system.
