Resident
Got a letter from immigration today - my application for residency has been approved in principle, which means that as soon as i pay the migrant levy of NZ$ 300 I will become a resident of NZ...which is thrilling news and definitely a weight off my mind. Also - another reviewer got back, wanting to know if I still wanted the review published after he told me that he is going to give a 1.5 star out of 5 review - which means he thinks the movie is crap... I have gone ahead and have asked him to write it and have it published. Afterall I am a poor film maker and any publicity is good publicity. So am keeping fingers crossed and waiting to see how bad is bad.. I guess it is the law of averages - this would obviously be the review which will equalize all the good reviews the movie has gotten till now.
School is going busy as usual and things are ticking along. It is the 48 hour competition coming up this weekend and have to sort out keys for both the teams who will be using the edit suites at school. I am happily not participating this time round and bearing the jibes from a couple of teams who need an editor but haven't found one - so I have now become a short film snob. :-)
The movie double pass giveaway is being carried out in a couple of places - Varsity website and it has come out in 'The Aucklander'..so things are progressing on the actual lead up to the festival. I somehow still have this fear that no one will turn up to see the movie - I guess it is every first time film maker's fear.
Anyway - will end the update for now, hoping that the screenings will be full and people will come and watch the movie.
Amit
