Wohooo
Got my passport back today and wohoooo I am now officially a resident of NZ. It feels cool that I can now stay in NZ without having to worry about my work permit every year or so...I fired off an application for a credit card - not that I am wanting to add more credit but it is just that now applying to film festivals as well as online shopping - which till this point was frustrating..Hopefully that should come through soon. The interview appeared in ONFILM magazine which was really cool. Thanks Nick for giving us some much needed publicity. I will put up the article sometime in mid-june. Got small mentions for the movie as part of Asia Film Festival in 'North & South' magazine as well as Lumiere - a kiwi website. In the last post I told you that I did an interview with 'The Aucklander' on the film industry in Auckland and we got a mention for the movie again and today I got permission to reproduce the article on the website {which is definitely an interesting read because of the stats and viewpoints} - i will put the article up on the website the next time I update it. Dong Ding - one of the students from last year now works at the largest chinese website in NZ and she did an article of Asian Film Festival and she mentioned 'Memories' there - if you have chinese font or can read chinese then it would be cool if you can translate it and let me know - THE ARTICLE. You can check out the article which appeared on Lance HERE
I really hope that we get a better turnout this time at the festival screening. Will find out what happens in another 4 days I suppose. We lost our netball game and the final score stood 24-15 - low scoring but intense - one of their guys was a terrific two point shooter and thats where they got the edge but the good thing is that we have moved up the table - from the bottom of the table about 4 weeks back to 4th position on the table...it is definitely exciting.
Anyway - feeling sleepy for now.
Amit
