Yes Men
Lots of things happened today - will try and cover all of them but incase I miss anything I will tell that with the next update.Did an email interview with 'Moviemaker' magazine- which is a popular film magazine from USA - it was supposed to be a a phone interview but the call kept cutting off so had to do it over the email. I hope that the interview makes it into the article -it would be cool even getting a small amount of publicity in an international magazine.
The review of 'Memories' which was to appear as part of an article in 'Real Groove' magazine has been pulled out at the last moment - details and reasons are unknown at this stage and so I won't dwell into it. I was hoping that it would have given us a good publicity surge but I guess that is not happening anymore.
Got a call back from a cinema theatre in Nelson - they liked the movie and are keen to give it a litte bit of playtime. Won't be making any money out of it but it will definitely give us some exposure. So will be following up on that soon. 'Memories' got classified 'M' by the classification board..which is fantastic. wohooo...first classification {it is nothing significant but almost feels like an event}
Watched 'Yes Men' and it was hilarious - you got to see if it if you get a chance. It is unpretentious, moving and effective. It was hard holding onto the chair, so I don't fall over while laughing my head off. Documentaries like these have a much bigger way of changing people's perception than any other medium. There was not one person in the theatre who walked out of the theatre without a smile on their face. {aah incase I forgot - I watched it with Angelique, Tessa and Steve, as I got a couple of comp tickets from Rialto because I gave them some valuable feedback :-)}
So yeah - things definitely seem to be happening {or unhappening} and in both cases it is fun being in the middle of things because it is a big learning curve. Anyway off for now - got to finish typing out the interview for TAKE magazine and go to bed.
Bye for now,
Amit
{And if you liked the dolphin's in 'The Hitchiker's Guide to The Galaxy' - then you got to check out my favorite song from the movie HERE. And if you don't love it then there is something wrong with you.}
