Neverwhere
This week has flown away faster than I can thought it would –a massive challenge to stay on top of things. Usually there is one project happening at school each week but this week there are 2 projects happening and have to prep for another project which happens next week: what does that mean?? It means that it is almost a 12 hour day everyday of the week and the editors are digitizing/mastering/editing almost till 8.30 – 9.00 each night after a 8.00 morning start. And to top it all we have had to cancel the laser tag match between editors and camera operators this Saturday as the editors have to come in on Saturday to prepare master tapes for ‘Pulse’ studio show. Challenges eh..Finished reading ‘Neverwhere’ by Neil Gaiman and it is fantastic. It is a dark fantasy and the writing is so lucid that you are literally in that world. I would give it a 4.5 stars out of 5. The next in line to read is ‘Stardust’ and I am excited about that as well, since it is the second novel by the same author.
Had an interesting meeting on Monday for a unique project and still deliberating over whether to go ahead with that or not. On Tuesday, I asked for Lance’s help to shoot a small piece to camera, which I needed to send off to Triggerstreet for part of their promotional material. It was fun doing it as it was beautiful weather and Lance’s camerawork is beautiful as usual. Hope that they find some useable footage from that, which serves their purpose.
The meeting on Wednesday for the next film’s script did not happen because the person was sick. There seems to be a flu going around at this point and also it is getting really really cold. It always amuses me that NZ has the reverse cycle than most of the world –while other parts are experiencing summer, we are in our winter season.
In other significant news - Paramount has cancelled 'Watchmen' movie..damn what idiots... Click to read the article HERE.
Anyway signing off for now.
