Semi-finals
What a day it has turned out to be..Well -the semi-final proved to be really controversial and we don't know yet if we are in the finals..Our match was scheduled for 4.00 PM today but the other team did not arrive and neither did the referee..so someone from the netball centre screwed up the times, so the team decided that we will wait and see what happens.. the other team arrived at 4.35 -5 minutes late and they weren't in full strength -only 3 players turned up, so one of the referees decided to join their team, so they had 4 players... we lost the game 43-27 but it wasn't a fair game at all- the referee was biased and gave some really wrong decisions - which obviously got us down quite a bit - he would simply overlook the other team's errors while he would penalize us for those same errors. But anyway - after the game, they would not give a clear decision as to who has gone into the finals -they say they will have to look up the regulations and even mentioned that 4 players are enough for the team to play... i looked up the rules and regulation and it says that a team must have atleast 5 players to take court, so technically we are in the finals but we need to hear back from the sports centre. I am at the same time following up to make sure that i did not read the rules wrong. But it is just frustrating to see the centre dragging their feet because the team which 'lost' to us is their own team. Let us see if they play fair.
Watched 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' with Lance and it was a cool movie for the most part. The ending was highly unsatisfactory and felt as if the director was tired of entertaining the audience, so they chucked in the end credits. The cinematography is fantastic and so are the performances by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Definitely a fun movie to watch but not the best.
Finished reading Stardust and it was a good read - a fairy tale for the adults but it never reaches the charms and unpredictability of 'Neverwhere' but it is still a fascinating book. I did enjoy it thoroughly. The book I have started reading now is 'The Da Vinci Code' because Tim, my flatmate had bought it and had finished reading it - i have read about 50 odd pages since i picked it up and it is definitely interesting and pulled me in straight away.
The only other thing I would like to mention before I go to bed is the interview I saw on TV with Mickey Rourke. I can't get it out of my head and I can't forget the words. It was so touching, honest and frank that I really feel for him. It is rare to see that in interviews these days {i must say that the interviewer was unusual as well and would ask the most random and the most simplest of questions -which would throw a lot of actors out of balance}. I will try and see if I can that interview or the transcript on the net and will put it up.
Off for now.
