Fine

It has been a few days since I last updated – the laptop was with Phil, who was editing the music video. Just saw the rough cut and he has done a bloody good job – the video just needs some tweaks, some colour correction and it should be on its way.

Saw ‘The Island’ yesterday night. My first thought at the end of the movie was that whoever edited the trailer for the movie should be shot {or whichever studio executive approved the trailer should be}. The trailer gave everything away. It was not a bad movie at all – it was beautifully shot and the story was good as well but the impact of the ending was not there because the trailer had in fact shown the ending of the movie. Can anyone be so dumb to think that the audience will forgive them for that – look at the US box office weekend figures – the movie took only around $11-12 million – meaning it misfired and if the studio is scratching their head as to why then reason is not hard to fathom.

We lost our netball game on Monday by 48-25 – we really lost the game in the 4th quarter. We only managed to get 1 point in the 4th quarter while the other team scored 15 odd. The real good thing to come from the game was that our team is feeling more cohesive and the gears are shifting into place.

I got a 80 dollar fine for doing 61 KM/Hr in a 50 KM zone, on an empty road {at 7.30 PM on a week night}. It is kind of ridiculous because it almost seems like a money making scheme by the government - a simple way of earning revenues. The other thing which bothers me is the placement of the speed cameras – most of them are placed where you automatically go a little over speed limit {like the camera on which I was snapped was placed at the bottom of a down slope}. Anyway – there is nothing else to do but pay off the fine.

Fired off the fedex to the American distributor with the deliverables, so once they get it – will know when they are planning to release the movie. In the meantime, I am busy building the DVD for the local market – which is definitely an interesting and time consuming exercise.

Anyway -am off for now.
