Music Video

I am still recouping from the music video session. The shoot itself went really smoothly - it was the actual day which turned out to be really long. I had been awake since 7.00 AM on Friday and then the wholesome and hectic 11 hour day at school followed by 15 minutes of rest and then the music video shoot which went on till 3.30 AM and by the time I got back home it was 4.30 AM {morning} and since I had drunk a couple of cans of 'V' - i could not go to sleep till 6.30 AM. So yeah -feeling kind of tired but not really. I will probably go to bed early.

The music video shoot was fantastic and Lance got some really cool footage. Christoph and Gils -two international students at school this year, helped out with lighting and both of them were fantastic - just made the work flow that much more faster. I will put up some pics once i get them from Gils and Lance. I digitized the footage onto the laptop today, so that Phil -another student from this year {specializing in editing} can edit it. I must say I think we will be able to pull this one off - even though it has such a simple concept.

School has been busy with intro course happening at the same time as the normal Film and television course. Nothing that can't be managed -just makes life a little more interesting. Things have been developing slowly at the job front and at this stage, have got 5 students work experience since term-3 has started off and have put another one onto another one which came up last week. Couple of jobs have come up and seeing if something can be sorted out there.

'Memories' did not get into Dubai Film Festival but Steve from Cinema Nocturna, viewed the movie and really liked it, so will be getting another interenational independent review by Monday. Still waiting to hear back from South Asian Film Festival in Toronto. I finally figured out how to author audio commentary tracks onto DVD using Adobe Encore- just have to see if it works or not.

Finished watching 'A Very Long Engagement' - it is a beautiful film. I absolutely loved the cincematography and it is fascinating seeing such beautifully composed and lit movie. The thing which did not work for me half the time though were the fancy wirecam shots, long 'hollywood' type shots but thats a minor nitpick in an otherwise well crafted and acted film. The story structure was interesting but was not the most effective.

The trailer for 'V for Vendetta' is now online and you can check it out HERE. I am drooling at the prospects of how this movie will shape up as there are many recognizable frames from the graphic novel itself. What bothered me was the apparent laziness by the studio to get a soundtrack composed for the trailer - instead they have liberally used the soundtrack of 'Batman Begins'...how odd?

Anyway better hit the bed before the bed hits me...heeheeee
Bye
Amit

{P.S - I finally got around to converting my first music track from .aif to .mp3 format. This was a track which i created using a loop based software and i was just mucking around to see if i could vaguely stitch together a coherent piece as i am not at all musically gifted {i know what music suits what scene and have a sense of rhythm and style but can't compose and my earlier attempts to learn music did not exactly fare well.} - the only reason i am sharing it is because it shows how much technology has simplified our lives in some respects... To listen to my first music composition - click HERE. Hope you enjoy it }
