Nightmare
I am listening to music to drown out the images of the vivid nightmare I had and the images are just beginning to fade after 3 hours. The nightmare felt like a thriller being played out where instead of being an observer, you become the hunted. I can’t describe how terrifying and real it felt. And the thing with such live dreams is that you want them to reach a conclusion but it always happens that they never end. It is like one of those T.V. season finales where they just leave you hanging for 3-4 months before they pick up telling the story further. The last image which I saw was - me staggering onto the road and see my friends sneak away and escape in a truck – while I stood and watched helpless as the truck went farther away from me. You could see the dusty road was filled with pamphlets and papers falling from the sky while you could feel the hot air {it is like standing in front of an oven when you open the door}. There were rebel soldiers cheering and rejoicing and no one seemed to pay much attention to me –which was a shock and a surprise as till that point everyone was after me and my friends – to be caught and executed. My mind was ticking on how to get out of that place and the shock and the disbelief overwhelming me, which is when my flatmate woke me up to borrow a firewire cable. I was pissed off at him – not for borrowing the cable but for having broken my nightmare and not letting me see where this could have gone. The nightmare sounds weird eh? well i am kidding not - i tried describing what i felt and saw...What am I listening to? Soundtrack from ‘Garden State’ – which contains some excellent music tracks like Cold Play’s Don’t Panic, Zero 7’s In the waiting line, The Shins’ Caring is Creepy….an excellent soundtrack, which matched the mood and feel of the movie. It is a solid compilation.
Anyway I better get back to trying to get back to sleep.
