Pies, Beer & Commentary

Just back from recording the audio commentary track for 'Memories' along with Lance..I think it went alright - will get to know for sure once I digitize it and listen to it. It was tiring speaking for that long though inspite of the pies and the beer we had before starting the whole thing off.

Watched 'Man on Fire' yesterday and it was again a beautifully shot movie and it was a really good revenge movie but could easily have shaved off atleast 30 minutes of the movie. Denzel Washington was good as usual and the music was cool as well. I think in the overall scheme of things the movie suffered purely because of its length. Maybe it is an occupational hazard for me that I somehow seem to look if some minutes could be shaved off or not. I know with 'Memories', we could have shaved off atleast 10 minutes easily but that would have made it close to non-commercial and thus hard to sell, especially for a first movie.

The whole of yesterday went into colour correcting the music video along with taking it through after effects to polish it up with filters as well as look...I think I am happy with most of it except for a couple of shots which i need to spend a little more time colour correcting. Let's see whats the record label producer's reaction to the look i tried - will get to know it tomorrow afternoon.

Also ended up at school yesterday, to pick up the camera to record the audio commentary track but also ended up sitting down with Paula and hand banging on the schedule and making sure that it still made sense to everyone and we were still able to keep all the exercises that we are supposed to do this term. It was a good exercise in extreme trouble shooting but I wouldn't want to be doing that every couple of weeks with the school schedule.

I think I will take leave for now - I do need to update the website.Tomorrow is gonna be one helluva day.

Adios

UPDATE
Just got an email from Berlin Asia Pacific Film Festival that 'Memories' has been selected to screen at the festival. I am thrilled, since that will be the European premiere for the movie. Just have to finish a few formalities and then can confirm the dates for that. It is awesome getting into 2 festivals within a frame of 7 days.

try watching the short film before hand..recall interesting points and just speak what you are thinking. Have to be precise though because time really flies away when you are trying to speak so much. :D
