Finally!!!

I finally biked to work. The weather forecast did not look good, so instead of waiting for the weather to clear up, I woke up early and started off before it would start raining again. I was lucky that it did not rain even though it was overcast. The ride back home was the same as well and i just hit some lucky patches when it didn't rain. The way to school is easy because there are not too many uphills but the ride back home is hard as there are a few really steep hills and it took all my effort to make sure that i kept biking instead of getting down and walking the bike up the hill. The initial period, till my legs and body gets used to the physical exertion, is usually the hardest. But it is a great feeling to have finally started doing what I had planned so many times but never did because of various factors.

The US distributor finally put up the front cover for 'Memories' on the imdb page. This is the cover of the US DVD and I must say that it is stylish but somehow it does not capture the essence of the movie as much as the NZ DVD cover does. I think because the US distributor is marketing it more as a thriller than a drama - they felt the need for having 2 guns on the front cover, and rightly so, no point in releasing a DVD title if it does not sell. After all everything comes down to business in the end.

Just finished watching 'Monster' and it is a tough watch - not in terms of movie pacing or anything but the subject matter itself - it is gripping. The acting from both Charlize Theron (rightly deserved the Oscar for her performance) as well as Christina Ricci lifts the movie to a whole new level and there are some stunning visual moments in there.
