Hail, Storm and Thunder

Man...my eyes are aching now - I will write a small update before hitting the bed. The reason my eyes are aching are that I have been watching the remaining 8 episodes of 'Taken' {as it is a 10-part mini series}, which equates to 12 hours TV. Insane??? Well tell me something new..

For a US$ 40 million budget, I think they were able to pull off something quite unique but have to say that they could easily have made it into a 6 part mini series. The whole series did not actually kick off till the end of the 5th episode - which means that I did have to endure 7.5 hours of the back story for the actual story to kick off. Art department was fantastic but some of the aging make-up looked really bad. Pacing at places was a little too indulgent, they could easily have tightened up the cut a lot more. But in saying all that - it is still a series to look at if you can endure the initial few episodes.

Weather caused major havoc and it was blowing almost 120 kmph winds. That was one of the reasons that I had to go to school because the lightning took out power on half the north shore area and machines at school shut down as well.. It was a good hour before the electricity came back on again but unfortunately somewhere along the line the circuit breaker for the edit suites tripped and can't get the machines back up and running till tomorrow {when the tech support fixes the problem}. So ultimately had to cancel today's edit for everyone and juggled the schedule a tad to give an extra day's edit to cover up for the day's loss.

Other than that have nothing much to write at the moment except that I think I need to give my eyes a good rest.
