Second?
2 posts in a day? Something must be wrong with me.....There are days when you feel like writing more and there are days when you don't write at all, so it kind of evens out I guess.
A windy saturday on a quiet central Auckland street
Non-eventful day per se. I went and watched 'Unleashed' along with Lance and it was a good movie so to speak but not really. It had some really interesting themes going on within it but the movie looses some of the taut feel 2/3rd's into the movie and the ending was kind of weird. The acting was really good and it has some marvellously executed fight sequences though - real adrenaline pumpers. An entertaining watch.
I also watched 'Chalte Chalte' - picked it up at the local video store and was very disappointed with it. It just reminded me why Bollywood needs to change the way it works and tells stories. It was plain uncreative and routine run of the mill bollywood movie with the usual song and dance sequences, over the top acting, cliched/extremely predictable storyline and to top it all off the ADR was noticeable {which is a really bad thing}. It feels bad dishing out dirt to a hindi movie like that but I can't force myself to say anything decent about the movie.
It was sad hearing about the loss of lives in the indian sub-continent because of the earthquake. It feels weird - the number of instances of natural disasters over the past few years have increased manifold. It is almost as if Earth is trying to tell us something - maybe we should look within ourselves for the answers. Yesterday - got a pamphlet from the local government agency and it wasn't surprising to see that Auckland is a hot bed for disasters waiting to happen -with vulnerability to volcanic explosions, tsunami from south pacific ocean or earthquakes {as Benji used to point out that we would see a volcanic eruption sooner than later - though the scientists have pegged a volcanic eruption to occur within the next 50 years} and thought it would be a good idea to put up a link for an article on being prepared for emergencies. It is not a joke and in all seriousness - most of us think that it won't happen to us...well nature doesn't look exactly look at individuals, so the best thing to do is be prepared. It is time people started thinking about civil defence. Don't worry and stop living your life thinking about it but do think about it and keep it in the back of your mind that one needs to be prepared for eventualities.
Adios,
Amit
