Weird
Being one of those rare holidays where I decided not to get out of bed till mid-day, I was hard pressed to think of things to do so as not to get out before my allocated time. As I lay thinking about various things, the weirdest thing happened to me. My thought processes were leading my to one question after another which kept building up into a solid question {you know how one thought process can lead to a completely different set of questions on a different thought process.} and for some strange reason I looked out of the window and saw a perfectly clear sky with a few small clouds and two of them were really close to each other – one of them was shaped as ‘N’ and the other ‘O’ – ‘NO’…it was almost as if the sky was trying to answer my question. I lay there stunned and in my shocked state I completely forgot the question and suddenly I realized how ridiculous this story might sound if I tried telling it to anyone {and prove that it is just not my hyperactive imagination}, so I got out of the bed in order to try and photograph the clouds. By the time I got the camera out and clicked the snap – the clouds had already half dispersed but I still managed to get something. Down below is the cropped up image of just the clouds and if you click on it – you can see the bigger picture taken from my bedroom window. You have every right to think I am crazy and all I can say is “Should I rename this blog to ‘Ravings of a Lunatic’?”Click on the photo to see the bigger pic
Well – it did get me out of the bed briefly but I was determined to stick to the resolve and jumped back right in wondering why I never get the answers to the questions I have and why I only have answers to the questions I don’t know. I suddenly realized that I had the ‘Serenity’ novel and promptly dug it out and started reading it. The novelization is really good and fills up the holes in the movie and also gives a lot more information about what the characters are going through. It is definitely a good read and was worth the price as it did keep me in my bed till 1.00 P.M. I think I will be able to enjoy the much better watching it on a standard movie screen with proper audio.
Watched 'Lost in Translation' for the second time in 2 days because that was what was playing on TV whenever I switched it on and everytime I ended up watching the whole movie. The 'Alone in Kyoto' sequence is still my favorite and it is enchanting.
I had cooked vegetable biryani, an Indian rice delicacy, yesterday for the first time and it wasn’t bad at all. Nothing went wrong while cooking and it tasted just fine {it tasted even better today – maybe because the rice absorbed the aroma overnight}, which was a really pleasant surprise for me. It has been 2 good days of weather after a few really rainy days, so I couldn’t stop myself from taking a snap and posting it here.

Random sunset shot
Watched 'Napoleon Dynamite' and it is really off-beat and funny. For a US$ 400,000 movie {with an added marketing cost of US$ 10 million} it has done extremely well and grossed US$ 46 million worldwide. Good on the film makers for having achieved that.
My parting note for the night is that it is surprising how a really small thing can trigger catharsis {not as in psychotherapy language but as in the normal sense of the world}.
Bye for now,
Amit
