Jarhead

It has been a semi-productive day. I have been scheduling further auditions and also shortlisting the scenes for the audition. I plan to do some more work after writing the blog. Lance popped over in the afternoon and we went to see 'Jarhead'.

It was a nice movie...definitely feels epic and drives it's point home. Wars are not glamourous. Jake Gyllenhall gives a really good performance and so does Jamie Foxx. Peter Sarsgaard's character is under developed or cut up and his character arc is kind of confusing. The use of music is really cool and the sound design is definitely something to be appreciated. The cinematography was really nice especially after the oil wells are lit up and the editing is nicely paced. But I couldn't fully enjoy the movie because the projector at the theatre was out of synch a bit and the picture would continously go slightly blurred every 3 seconds odd. It wasn't anything major but for me it was distracting. Lance called me a fussy prick when I pointed it out to him at the end of the movie but he came around to seeing the jitter......It takes a finally tuned eye to see those small things which matter.(:-)

Anyway off for now...got work to do.

UPDATE - I finally ironed a couple of my clothes tonight. It is a record of sorts - the last time I pressed my clothes was about 3 years back...wohoooo...I feel special - I think I will sleep easy tonight.
