Syriana

Every movie has a vibe and with 'Memories' it was about denial of disbelief and the strength of will. 'Nowhere' is turning out to be about persistence and faith. Another busy weekend coming up with more auditions and I still haven't started auditioning for one of the other lead roles. And soon after I have to start shortlisting – a process that I am dreading but something which I guess I have to do.

I had a list of 16 'to do' things written down on 20th Feb and it is the end of a working week and I have completed 4 of those tasks while another 5 have been added to that list. I might cover some ground over the weekend when I have more time for the movie.

It is funny how we were talking about oil-politics-power and today I watched 'Syriana' - which covers all those topics. The story doesn't work as cinema but it is a really good movie as far as giving public access to the bigger picture of oil politics is concerned -the amount of information crammed into the movie is amazing. The build up takes too long but ultimately the story clicks together and the movie does not provide any answers or resolutions but leaves it upto you to make up your own mind. Worth a watch - especially if you want to get a glimpse into the insane world we are living in. Politics like religion is a personal thing and things are always heated when either of those topics are discussed. Human nature is a funny thing.

York Entertainment haven't fixed the US version of the DVD and I don't particularly like what they have done with it - no let me correct myself - i positively hate what they did with the DVD authoring and they know about it. You learn from the mistakes I suppose. The good thing though is that it has atleast given us access to a bigger audience.
