Weeks Fly
It is the end of another week and there is a chill in the air - looks like the glorious summer has come to an end. I can't believe how quickly the week flew away. The positive development on the movie front that I was talking about in the last post - well, we now have a new producer on board the movie and it is awesome because I get to spend more time on doing the directorial stuff right now and there is someone to shoulder the workload and keep the project on track. I will be updating the 'Nowhere to Love' website sometime soon.I watched 'Hostel' yesterday night and it was an interesting movie. It is marketed as a horror movie but to me it really wasn't. It takes a good chunk of the running time to get started and the first half of the movie feels like an american road trip movie with it's fixation for drugs, drinks and sex while the second half of the movie feels like a thriller with a couple of really intense graphic violence scenes which really make you squirm in your seat. There has been way too much hype about the movie and I think it doesn't fulfill the expectations that it promises. It is a decent movie with some chilling moments but nowhere as scary as the promos make it out to be. The movie was made for US$ 5 million and marketing budget for it was US$ 18 million - why don't the numbers make sense to me? It has earned back a total of US$ 50 million, so that is a nice profit I would say.
School is as hectic and time consuming as ever and things will only intensify over the next couple of weeks. I need to finish cleaning up the rest of my room. My flatmate's girlfriend has temporarily gone home for 3-4 months and there is quite in the house - which I am really happy about (i.e the quite in the house).
I am off to start a lovely saturday morning and will write later (if there is anything to update).
