Sione's Wedding

I just came back from watching 'Sione's Wedding' along with Echo. My thoughts....blaaahhh....I mean it is not bad but it is not good either. The movie's pacing is way off the mark and it is too long even for it's current length - almost felt like they ran out of ideas and kept dragging the movie somehow. Some jokes are funny but after the first few laughs I couldn't see the humor - it was playing to the audience instead of being true to the story structure. Maybe I just did not get the samoan sense of humor. I usually know if the movie was really bad if I get a headache - I have a really mild headache. It was good seeing Rachel in the movie {the lead for our first movie - 'Memories'} though.

It is great though - it is one of the few films which has tried getting away from the brooding and dark films that New Zealand usually produces. It is a feel good comedy if you can get into it - unfortunately I didn't.
