What's good for you
I was watching a program called 'What's Good for You' at work and here are some things I picked up during the program and thought I would share with everyone.- Spicy food doesn’t cause ulcers.
- Vitamin D helps absorb calcium into the body.
- Cook meat on hotplate instead of grill to avoid carcinogenic materials build up on the meat
- 50gms serving of Fries has 18 gms of fat; potato chips have 16 gms of fat & baked potato chips 4 gms of fat.
- You should eat at least a couple of hours before you go to bed otherwise you miss out on deep sleep, which causes you to feel tired when you wake up the next day as your body hasn't repaired itself completely.
- 1-2 glasses of red wine is good for your heart but not for people suffering from enlarged heart, high blood pressure, family history of heart disease or alcohol abuse.
- Breakfast is the most important meal of the day but fatty breakfasts aren’t good for you as it causes weight gain. Porridge is an excellent breakfast food.
- Pasta is low GI, so it doesn’t make you fat especially if you stick to tomato based sauces
- Basmati rice is better than Jasmine rice because it has low GI.
- Fish is good for you because they contain Omega-3 oils and one is recommended atleast 200 mg of Omega-3 oil a day in whatever form.
Watched a couple of movies recently - Wolverine {what a waste of time and money} & Youth Without Youth {slow, long, philosophical, poetic, confusing} and I have primarily been busy with 'the freedom project' - which is shaping up nicely and nothing more to share on that except that the workshops are an ongoing process and I am loving it.
I'm going to Wellington in a couple of weeks - just felt the need to get away from Auckland, so decided to spend a couple of days down there. I might shoot a scene for the freedom project there otherwise it will be a location reccee trip for the future projects as well.
Another 3 days and I come to the end of my long 7 day working week and can't wait for the weekend break.
That's me for now.
Till later,
Amit
